iQ allows the director to build a timeline with placeholders, review shots and see
low-res 3D in context before lengthy CGI rendering.
Assembly
With iQ, the editor can work with rushes, temps, offline and finals all on the same
timeline - a benefit of Quantel's unique Resolution Co-existenceTM. As the job
comes together, iQ's powerful on-board Paintbox, effects and compositing tools
allow finessing and complex changes to be made without going to other systems.
Flexible titling and subtitling tools complete the picture.
Color Grading
iQ's own QColor in-context grading option gives total creative freedom with colour
at every stage of the DI process. iQ is equally at home working in tandem with Pandora and da Vinci systems where its editing and effects tools can be employed interactively
to provide non-linear flexibility.
Trailers
iQ has all the power and tools to enable editors to create great trailers as soon as
the rushes start hitting the machine. It means the iQ owner can get a bigger slice
of the job.
Deliverables
The iQ DI workflow makes it easier to make the movie and all the different versions, both editorial - director's cut, culture-sensitive versions; and format - d-cinema, film, DVD, HD movie channel, SD television deliverables, for both new work and restoration projects. Once again, work that used to go outside can now be kept in-house, further increasing revenues for the iQ owner.
New DI Workflows
iQ appeals to the director and DP because it enables them to do more and have
more direct control over the realization of their creative vision. iQ also appeals
strongly to the producer because it can do more work for less cost in a shorter
timescale, and it dramatically reduces the costs of late changes.
